Google Analytics

One of the adds on my own page referred me to this new service. (Google must get a good deal on advertising through AdSense...) Anyway, this is an easy tool to use and gives you tons of information about who is visiting your site and where they came from.

You can even use it on your blog to start with, until you are familiar enough with its uses. All you need to do is add an HTML script to your blog and paste in the coding supplied by Google Analytics. You add this to any page that you want traffic info on, and the next day you can view the report. I haven't used all the tools yet, but I it looks like it will allow you to sort by anything your heart desires. There are also goals you can set up for each page to optimize your own advertising.

For example, I set up an add on Craigslist near my hometown to stir up some interest in this site. In 2wks I have gotten 6 people from craigslist and 25 people directly from Blogger who randomly (some algorithm I suppose). Obviously, Craigslist (or at least the placement of the add) is not very effective. So now I can change the placement and monitor for another couple weeks and see the difference.

Entrepreneurs Building Blocks

Another great article from Lean Blog about starting a new business. The focus here was on how to network and build for the future when you will be looking to secure financing.

High Altitude Wind Turbines

CNN had an interesting article on Flying Wind Farms.

It is something that I have never considered before, but maybe it has some merit...

There must be a Business Opportunity

PartnerUp.com

While browsing around I ran across this web based company who is already working to connect people with business opportunities. I think I will sign up for their free site (PartnerUp.com) and check out what they have to offer. It looks like there is only teaser info available which entices you to sign-up for their fee based site access. I'll let you know how it goes.

Posts and Other Interesting Information

I would like to post Articles of interest here (like the one below)

"where would I be without LEAN"

This was a very interesting article that highlights the practical benefits of viewing the world through LEAN glasses. For entrepreneurs this makes perfect sense...eliminate anything that does not add some kind of tangible value to the person/organization that is paying for your good or service.
